Swiipr raises £6 million in Series A funding round
Travel compensation technology firm Swiipr has raised £6 million in a Series A funding round led by Octopus Ventures
Other contributors to the funding round included TX Ventures and Solano Partners.
The UK-based technology startup has stated that it will use the new capital to “fund research and development, product developments”, and support its expansion in the international airline market.
Swiipr operates a digital platform, launched in 2020, designed to allow airlines to make compensation payments for flight disruption more conveniently. It incorporates virtual and pre-paid compensation cards, alongside a mobile app.
The Swiipr platform aims to “replace paper vouchers, cash, and bank transfers” as the primary means of offering flight disruption compensation. The company said that its technology is currently used by 26 airlines across 70 countries.
Cover Genius recently announced a successful $80 funding round of its own, led by Spark Capital.
