Prudential Plc forms AI partnership with Google
Prudential Plc has announced a new partnership with Google Cloud to build AI-powered products to enhance customer, agent, and employee experiences
The company – which is not affiliated with either the US-based Prudential Financial, or the UK’s Prudential Assurance Company Limited – will work with Google Cloud to establish a new artificial intelligence (AI) lab, believed to be the first of its kind for the insurance industry in Asia and Africa.
The AI Lab, launching later this year, will be based in Singapore, and is intended to “accelerate” Prudential’s adoption of machine learning and AI while pushing forward the company’s aims to:
- Deliver a better customer experience
- Drive technology-powered distribution
- Improve access to affordable, quality healthcare.
Under the terms of the arrangement, Google will provide “end-to-end support” for the project, including access to “large language models (LLM), advanced and secure generative AI, data analytics solutions, and Cloud provision”.
The aim is to provide Prudential’s 15,000 employees with a “sandbox environment” and “step-by-step process for turning their ideas into scalable AI products and applications”.
The AI Lab will also partner with “institutes of higher learning, research centres, promising startups, and AI experts” to support its operations.
CoverGo announced the launch of a new AI-driven distribution platform for insurance earlier this year.
