New quaternary hospital for Enugu, Nigeria
The government of the Nigerian state of Enugu has approved construction of a new 250-bed quaternary healthcare facility
The new healthcare facility, known as the Enugu International Hospital, will be located on Rangers Avenue, in Enugu city, the capital of the southeastern state – approximately 20 minutes’ drive from Akanu Ibiam International Airport.
As well as enhancing the level of medical research and training available in Nigeria, the hospital is intended to serve as a hub for high-quality, specialised medical services.
It is hoped that in the long term, the facility will help to reverse the flow of outbound medical tourism from the country, and attract further investment in the city and state.
Healthcare provider Starcare International Hospital opened a new healthcare facility in the Nigerian capital of Lagos in May.
