The Canadian broker has appointed Melanie Muise as its new President for Personal and Travel Insurance

Muise will take on the newly created role from 1 August, having previously served as Navacord’s Chief Operations Officer since 2019. Since taking on that role, Muise played an important part in ‘modernising and digitising’ the company’s business, as well as ‘supporting broker partners in achieving their growth ambitions, and focusing on employee and client experience’.

The company stated that Muise ‘brings over 18 years of insurance industry experience to this position’, and added that with ‘[her] oversight, Navacord has a long track record of growth in personal lines’.

Navacord also stated that Muise ‘will be transitioning out of her role as Chief Operations Officer over the coming weeks, with responsibility for her portfolio being distributed across the Navacord executive team’.

Shawn DeSantis, President and CEO of Navacord, welcomed the appointment: “We are excited to have Melanie bring all of her experience to our personal and travel businesses. She has a proven capability to deliver results with her strategic thinking and leadership skills.”

Navacord also recently announced its acquisition of the British Colombia-based SeaFirst Insurance Brokers.
