Intermountain partners with Vicarious Surgical
The non-profit healthcare system in the central US, has formed a new partnership with medical robot developer Vicarious Surgical
The strategic development agreement will give Vicarious access to Intermountain Health’s network, and will support collaboration between the two businesses to identify and evaluate potential opportunities for the implementation of Vicarious’s robotic systems.
The partners will also assess the potential for improvements to clinical outcomes and administrative efficiencies within the Intermountain Health system.
If the evaluation is successful, Vicarious and Intermountain plan to expand their partnership further.
“We’re thrilled to bring Intermountain Health into our network of partners as we move towards system finalisation and regulatory submission,” said Adam Sachs, CEO and of Vicarious Surgical. “As a leader of efficient healthcare delivery through innovative technology, Intermountain is uniquely positioned to help shape and advance our commercial strategy, especially as we explore the differentiated visualisation, sensing and data collection capabilities of the Vicarious Surgical system.
Intermountain operates 33 hospitals and 385 clinics across the states of Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nevada, and Utah.
The University of Texas announced plans for a new $2.5 billion hospital in the city of Austin last month.
