Cover Genius partners with SKY Airline

As part of the arrangement, Cover Genius will offer ‘comprehensive’ travel protection to SKY Airline’s Brazilian customers via the airline’s ticket booking pathway.

The deal will ‘leverage Cover Genius’ global capabilities, which include licences or authorisations in over 60 countries, and all 50 US states’.

According to Jaime Fernández, Head of Digital Channels at SKY Airline, the company has ‘seen increasing interest among travellers to safeguard their purchases and manage risk by adding protection to their tickets’.  

The company cited a recent travel report it had commissioned – conducted by Momentive.ai – that found that 75 per cent of Brazilian travellers would prefer to buy protection from embedded sources – such as via their travel provider, agent, or airline. The main reason cited was ‘convenience’.

Cover Genius announced a similar arrangement with Mexican low-cost airline Volaris in May of this year.
