You are the CMO of Asian Travel and Medical Services (ATMS). Can you tell us what your role involves?

As the head of marketing and business development at ATMS, my role is vital in establishing our brand as the premier provider of medical and travel services in Asia. I am responsible for creating strategies that will propel our company to the forefront of the industry, ensuring that we are not only competitive, but also innovative and customer-centric.

The business has been established for over 15 years. What are the biggest changes you’ve seen in the industry in that time?

In the past, our industry had few competitors and operated in a stable market. But now, new companies have entered, disrupting established businesses. This increased competition has forced businesses to be more agile and innovative, constantly striving to differentiate themselves. Surviving in this competitive environment requires adapting to changing market conditions and meeting consumer demands.

Another significant change has been the rapid advancement of technology. You are based in Kolkata, India. Can you tell us why this location works so well for ATMS?

In our industry we primarily operate online. This allows us to take advantage of the significantly lower manpower costs in India compared to other Asian countries like Singapore, Hong Kong, and Japan. The cost of running an office in India is much more affordable, which is a crucial factor in our business strategy. This allows us to offer our services at a much lower price compared to our competitors in other countries.

You work closely with a vast network of partners – hospitals, clinics, transportation providers. How do you choose who to partner with, and why are these relationships so vital?
