As the UEFA EURO 2024 championship in Germany comes closer, Compass Point Assist (CPA) has unveiled new offerings. Can you tell us more about them?
Recognising the needs of international visitors coming to Germany for the championship, we have developed tailored offerings that include medical assistance, travel support, and logistical help. Our medical assistance ensures immediate access to healthcare, vital in managing any unexpected medical issues. The travel assistance encompasses everything from travel planning to emergency support, aiming to provide a seamless experience for our clients. Additionally, our logistical support will help visitors navigate the complexities of travelling across the 10 vibrant host cities, ensuring they can focus solely on the excitement of the games.
Who are these new offerings aimed towards? Are they for fans, assistance companies or insurers?
Our new offerings are crafted to support a diverse group of stakeholders, ensuring everyone receives the local support they need during UEFA EURO 2024. While we primarily collaborate with global assistance companies and insurers, we are equally enthusiastic about assisting fans directly. We're also currently working with tour companies, who have reached out for specific services to enhance their clients’ experience.
The championship runs across several cities in Germany. How much of a challenge does this pose?
The logistics of supporting travellers across 10 cities in Germany during the UEFA EURO 2024 pose significant challenges, particularly in establishing or ‘refreshing’ comprehensive support infrastructures before the event kicks off.
Our preparation involves thorough planning to meet diverse needs, including accommodations for people with special needs, as well as organising and securing transportation during this high-demand period.
Additionally, we are intensifying our readiness for potential medical emergencies by expanding our local medical networks, ensuring up-to-date contact information, and verifying our presence at the relevant facilities. Alongside medical preparedness, we are also coordinating travel logistics like bus, train, and subway schedules to and from stadiums.

Weather variability adds another layer of complexity; thus, advising travellers on appropriate clothing is a crucial part of our prevention strategy to minimise emergencies.
Security is a paramount concern, especially with the heightened terror threat alert and the proximity of conflict in Europe. Border controls entering Germany and at airports will be significantly stricter, extending travel times. We are diligently advising travellers about these increased security measures and the associated delays.
Tell us more about what the policies cover.
For the UEFA EURO 2024, our role at CPA is to provide specialised services under the travel insurance policies offered by our insurer partners. These are fundamentally leisure travel policies, but we customise our services to meet the specific demands of our partners and their clients.
We are currently collaborating with numerous travel groups from various countries who are visiting Germany specifically for the football matches. These groups are not only travelling at the same time to completely different cities and attending matches at different times, but they are also engaging in additional excursions during their stay in Germany.

Ultimately, this tailored approach ensures that travellers can focus on enjoying their experience, secure in the knowledge that comprehensive support is readily available.
