Moorfields Eye Hospital expands Dubai site
Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai has completed an upgrade of its hospital facilities, increasing its capacity by 20%
The opening of the new facilities was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony on 23 April.
The improvements are intended to improve access to specialised eye care in the region, and include 40 new consultation rooms. These have facilities for specialists in fields such as ophthalmology, optometry, and orthoptics.
Additionally, the expansion offers an expanded pharmacy, and several new medical photography rooms.
The expansion is intended to accommodate for both growing domestic demand for private healthcare, and Dubai’s rapidly developing medical tourism sector.
Following a decision by the UAE government earlier this year, private sector employers will be required to offer health insurance coverage to their employees from 2025.
