ITIJ announces new editor
It’s all change at ITIJ, with current editor Sarah Watson stepping down at the end of June and her replacement getting ready to take the reins
As many readers already know, ITIJ’s long-standing editor, Sarah Watson, is to stand down at the end of June to persue new ventures. While she will be sorely missed by her colleagues and peers in the industry, ITIJ will be handed over to a new editor with a wealth of experience in the global travel and health insurance sector, Mandy Langfield.
Mandy and Sarah have worked together at Voyageur Publishing since 2006 and while Mandy has stepped into various roles during her time at the company, spending the last few years at the helm of AirMed&Rescue Magazine, she’s always been part of the ITIJ team, and has stepped up as the editor of ITIJ as needed. Her experience in the travel and health industry has been further boosted by her years spent on the ITIC Committee and moderating at the conferences.
Speaking of handing over the editorship of the magazine, Sarah commented: “I couldn’t be happier that Mandy has agreed to take on the editor role at ITIJ and I wouldn’t want to be handing it over to anyone else. I wish Mandy every success with ITIJ and very much look forward to following the magazine’s continued success under her stewardship.”
So, from 1 July this year, Mandy will be back at the helm of ITIJ, taking it forward into the post-Covid world. Commenting on her new role, she said: “I’m delighted to be taking the reins at ITIJ again. Through my time working on the magazine, attending industry events, being part of the ITIC Global committee, and moderating ITIC sessions, I have made many friends and connections in the international travel and health insurance industry and I look forward to growing those relationships as we move forward. We’re moving into a time where travel will be different and insurance will play a more important role than ever in keeping travellers safe, healthy and confident. I’m excited to play an integral part in charting the industry’s evolution as we move beyond the pandemic and into a brighter future.”
Next month, we’ll be speaking in-depth with Sarah and Mandy about their time on ITIJ, the new ITIJ editorial team and plans for the magazine’s future.
