Aviva joins GAIN as ‘Industry Transformer’ member

Group for Autism, Insurance, Investment and Neurodiversity focused on workplace inclusion
The UK’s leading insurer Aviva has joined the Group for Autism, Insurance, Investment and Neurodiversity (GAIN) as an ‘Industry Transformer’.
Aviva is pledging to engage, educate and enable neurodivergent individuals to thrive in the workplace.
Aviva will also play a leading role in championing neuro-inclusion across insurance, investment and financial services. It’s looking to bring neurodiversity into the same focus as other more recognised forms of diversity and inclusion, by recognising it as an important element in achieving environmental, social and governance (ESG), corporate social responsibility (CSR) and broader diversity objectives.
Barbara Schonhofer, Co-Chair of GAIN, said: “There has never been a better time to be more informed about neurodiversity and the huge value to business of recognising and welcoming different ways of thinking and operating.
“By embracing difference, we better reflect customers and the broader society we serve. We recognise the significance of Aviva signing up as an ‘Industry Transformer’ in the GAIN journey to help welcome those of us who are neurodivergent.”
Owen Morris, MD Personal Lines at Aviva, added: “It’s a huge positive for Aviva to join GAIN. The UK insurance industry can be a wonderful place for talented neurodivergent individuals to work, with so many problems to solve and different ways to think – all bringing benefit to our customers. So, investing in neurodivergent individuals will really benefit our people, our customers and our business.”
Diversity and inclusion is seen as vital to providing the best possible workplace environment.
