EURAMI Update – December 2023
The latest from the European Aero Medical Institute (EURAMI)
A recap of the 1st EURAMI Conference in Barcelona
On 4 November, the inaugural EURAMI Conference took centre stage at the W Hotel in Barcelona, drawing over 80 attendees from the aeromedical, assistance and insurance industry. The event proved to be a dynamic platform for robust discussions and interactive engagement.
The conference used an interactive app, allowing attendees to participate in votes, polls, and discussions. Conversations ranged from the evolution of industry standards to the debate over the necessity of tiers in standardisation. Participants delved into the challenges posed by supply chain disruptions, with operators grappling with price increases of up to 200 per cent.
Issues around transporting ECMO, bariatric, and oxygen-dependent patients on commercial airlines surfaced as key topics, highlighting the complex challenges faced by the industry. Attendees explored the overarching question of whether it is possible to be better, faster, cheaper, and greener simultaneously.
The whole team would like to express our gratitude to the attendees for their invaluable feedback and support and a special thanks to the conference's exceptional speakers and moderators, whose insights enriched our lively exchanges.
As the event concluded, it left a resonating message: the aeromedical industry surrounding EURAMI is ready to embrace innovation and collaboration, navigating the delicate balance of providing exceptional care while overcoming challenges to build a more sustainable future. We can’t wait to see you at the 2nd EURAMI Conference on 9 November, 2024 in Vienna, Austria!
